Koh Chang Highlights
The Beaches
The beaches in Koh Chang aren’t as pristine in comparison with Koh Samui and Koh Phi Phi, however, they are great for beach and water activities and excellent to share with family or by yourself. For those travelers who are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the waves, White Sand Beach and Long Beach are the perfect settings but for a lively atmosphere, Lonely Beach is ideal for parties and cheap prices making it popular among backpackers. For gorgeous beaches, the best option is a day tour around the nearby islands to Koh Chang.
Waterfalls
Due to its wide range of forest and jungles, Koh Chang possesses many outstanding waterfalls that are more than a pleasant sight. Starting with the famous Klong Plu Waterfall, this cascade is around 400 meters and you can double the adventure and go there by bike. A few kilometers from Klong Plu lies Thanmayon Waterfall which first owned its popularity when King Rama V visited it. Both falls are located in the National Park, on the east coast, and the fee is 200 Baht for adults and 100 Baht for kids.
Scuba Diving
The main activity to do in Thailand is scuba diving, so don’t miss the opportunity to learn to dive in Koh Chang. There are so many dive schools but PADI course is excellent for kids or beginners, all the courses include the equipment, food, transportation and a certificate. The island hosts the best dive sites in Thailand like Koh Kra, Koh Rang, Koh Thian among others, where you can discover exotic fishes such as clownfish, stingrays and even watch the whale sharks.
Fishing Villages
