Thai Mothers Day celebrations come around every 12th August in Thailand. It coincides with the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, who is lovingly regarded as the mother of all Thai people today. The day is fondly embraced, with mothers everywhere receiving warm blessings from their families. Thais take the opportunity to highlight the example of the Queen's benevolence toward the nation's poor and needy. She has a special place in the hearts of the people because of her devotion to their wellness, and naturally she is held up as a glowing example for others to do the same.
Some weeks before, an increase in national flags and pictures of the Queen will be seen decorating houses and public places, expressing honour and loyalty toward her. On the day, thousands upon thousands of Thais will be taking their mothers out to dinner and shows to say thank you for their love toward them. Many will kneel before their mums and present them with white jasmine flowers and garlands. In return, the mothers will take the opportunity to give thanks for their children, showering them with blessings also. At this time, charities also see blessings of new funding as it seems the whole nation looks at ways to give and receive.
Maybe on this warm occasion, if you are here with your mother, you may wish to give her a lovely treat and escort her to a nearby island for an extra special day of memorable travel, views, dining and experiences. It would be our pleasure to assist you.
