Getting to Trat province is a piece of cake! The city has a small airport which offers a daily flight from/to Bangkok and a minibus service in the arrival hall. Buses from Bangkok arrive at the bus station in the north of Trat city, the price of this trip is 200 baht (approximately) and it has a duration over five hours. Renting a car is also a good option, the journey from Bangkok is a total distance of 315 kilometers.

Around the city, songtaew, tuk-tuks, and taxis are circulating everywhere, travelers like to use them to go to the pier where all the ferries sail to the popular islands in Trat province such as Koh Chang, Koh Mak, and Koh Kood. Trat province doesn’t skimp on showing off its cultural and historical roots. Colorful murals and temples which surround the old town of the city. You will see a combination of Chinese temples and Islamic mosques. The Chao Pho Chao Phor Lak Muang Shrine is one of the most peculiar Chinese temples, it possesses a striking façade that will call out your attention. If you want to learn more about Trat´s history, you should check out Trat museum. Another important attraction is Wat Buppharam, this temple, made of wood is a real architecture from the XVII century, and its museum gathers Buddha images and relics and a porcelain collection from China and Europe.

This province presents a group of 52 big and small islands, standing out among them is Koh Chang, located in Muh Koh Chang National Marine Park. This island offers you sceneries just like they were taken from a postal card. Other prominent islands are Hat sai si ngoen, Hat sai kaew, and Hat Ban cheun, here there are magnificent views of the Gulf of Thailand plus, you will get to relax without being bothered by hawkers. In the beaches, you can find little restaurants selling fresh seafood and if you took a stroll around it, you will discover some fishing boats.
