Chumphon is one of these places that will never let you down when it comes to amazing nature and good vibes. There are many ways to travel to Chumphon. One of these ways is by plane, Chumphon has a small airport located 35 km north of Chumphon town and has a couple of flights daily especially from Bangkok. Chumphon has a main stop for trains, located at the west of Kromulang Road at the end in downtown. The train comes from various places like Hua Hin, Bangkok and more, the routes are daily. Chumphon also has a bus terminal for travelers on a budget, there are buses coming in from different places like Bangkok, Hat Yai. Saving the best for last, taking the boat is an excellent option of travel. There are many routes by sea coming from an array of places like Koh Phangan, Koh Samui, and Koh Tao. And who has a better ferry service than yours truly Ferrysamui.

Chumphon Information

Chumphon is a city located in Southern Thailand on the Central Gulf Coast. Chumphon has breathtaking natural beauty, it is made up of a 220 km coastline with amazing sand beaches like Bang Son, Ao Bo Mao Beach, and Thung Wua Laen. There are many opportunities that present itself and things to do in Chumphon, things like swimming, canoeing, sunbathing, fishing, snorkeling, paragliding and many more. Chumphon province has a lot of tropical islands and National parks, along with beautiful nature and coral reefs.

ชุมพร Wat Phra That Sawi

Wat Phra That Sawi
Located at the bank of the Sawi River. This holy temple is everything you want a Buddhist temple to be, the stupa or Chedi of the temple is thought to contain many relics of the Lord Buddha. The legend of The Chedi goes back the period of Ayutthaya in the 18th and 17th centuries, when his Majesty ordered to remove the debris and found a large pagoda and when they dug the ground they found a jar having some of Buddha’s relics and so the legend says. The temple is open every day from 8 am to 5 pm.

Ngao Waterfall National Park
Located in Khlong Phrao National Park at Tambon Ngao. You can see this amazing waterfall from a very long distance due to its impressive height of 300 meters. Tourists usually trek right to the top of the waterfall to enjoy the breathtaking view, they also sometimes chill in a nearby hot spring called Bo Nam Ron Pon Rung. Many tourists say that it is an amazing and relaxing experience melting all their troubles away. The park also has many mangrove forests for all the nature lovers out there.

Chumphon National Musuem
Located in Sam Kaeo Hill, Muang District at the compound of the official government center of Chumphon. The Chumphon National Museum is definitely a trip down memory lane of a whole culture, the two-storey building established in 1994 consists o a library, bookshop, gift shop, convention hall, the exhibition hall, a cafeteria, etc. the museum is done in a native style with a touch of contemporary. The admission cost of the museum is about 30 Baht, and it is a great spot for the whole family to enjoy.

Located in the central area of the town, close to the train station is the Chumphon Night Market. This night market has many things to offer filled with a lot of street stalls which provides an array of different seafood and Thai food, juices, fruits among other delicious things. It is a great place to explore and experience new pallets, getting you closer to knowing Thai culture, which is well known for its delicious cuisine and entertaining arts.
